4 years
My wife and I were on our evening walk a couple of days ago when I realized my fourth anniversary of being alcohol-free passed by last week without my noticing -- I felt like sobriety is such a basic fact of life for me that right now it's become a given. Everything good that has happened stems from that, and anything negative is a lot easier to confront and deal with.
While no booze seems to come naturally and easily now, I remain mindful daily of the work it took to get me here, and what I need to do to manage and, more importantly, enjoy my life. For those of you just getting started, if you apply yourself to this program and take advantage of the tools it offers, living a balanced life is an achievable goal.
It took me six decades, but when it comes to a fulfilling life, later is definitely better than never.
Stay mindful, my friends!

Love every bit of that post Myles!
Well done youWhat got me sober was TRYING to get sober. Often when I lapsed, picked up, drank, I FELT thoroughly beaten. I thought at that time "there is no hope for me"Yet, when I had recovered from that thought just a little, I thought "I'll have another GO!"
It was a few little sparks, rather than a flame, that got me here!
