2 Years Sober Next Month!
Hello Everyone,
I hope that this message gives you strength that you need to beat your addiction.
I have been living a sober life for 2 years. My life was spiralling before I quit. I was using Meth for 3 years. After a year of using it, I was jobless for 2 years, lying to my family/friends and significant other about my addiction. I was living a double life. My life was in shambles and i knew I needed help to quit so I admitted it to my ex-boyfriend. He helped me through my addiction and I was able to turn my life around. The path to sobriety wasn't an easy one. I attended Smart Recovery meetings and it equipped me with the tools I needed so that i can bounce back during emotional turmoils. I broke up with my ex a year after I got sober and I though it was going to be a hard hump to recover but here I am still sober. Also, I went back to school to better myself. I knew I didn't want to stay in the path I was going to cause it didn't lead me anywhere. I now have the career of my dream, I made new friends and I'm in the best shape I've ever been.
You can beat the odds! You're more than what you're addicted to!

Very well done Abee_To1107
What a great journey to share.
Well done on that 2 year gift to yourself and those around youWhat got me sober was TRYING to get sober. Often when I lapsed, picked up, drank, I FELT thoroughly beaten. I thought at that time "there is no hope for me"Yet, when I had recovered from that thought just a little, I thought "I'll have another GO!"
It was a few little sparks, rather than a flame, that got me here!
